What is Fluxer?
Fluxer is a free, open source community chat app in the style of Discord - text channels, voice, servers, and all. We run our own self-hosted instance, which means our conversations stay on hardware we control, on software we can read and fix, owned by nobody but the community. No company, no investors, no lock-in.
Quick Setup Guide
Step 1: Choose Your Access Method
Option A: Web Browser
Visit chat.gigachad.website directly - no install needed. This is the recommended method for now.
Option B: Desktop App
Fluxer has native apps for Windows, Linux, and macOS, but they currently do not support connecting to custom self-hosted servers like ours. Until that lands, use the web app on desktop.
Option C: Mobile App
Open source mobile apps are out, with App Store and Google Play releases in progress. Check the official download page.
Step 2: Get an Account
Accounts are approval-based: you sign up, then wait for an admin to approve you.
- Create your account. Visit chat.gigachad.website and sign up with the email address you want to use.
- Wait for approval. An admin reviews and approves your account. Once it's through, log in and you're in.
Already on our Discord? If you have an account on the official Discord server, DM @ben_bone_ with the email address you want to use for Fluxer.
Step 3: Connect
Once your account is approved:
- Open chat.gigachad.website (or the mobile app, once it supports self-hosted servers)
- Log in with your account credentials
Step 4: Settle In
- Pick a display name and drop an avatar in your profile settings
- Say hi in the channels you see - you're expected to be polite, like a giga-chad
- Join voice when you're around; that's the whole point of a chat server
